Village Story

Nestled in the heart of Waushara County, the Village of Hancock is a community of around 400 residents built on hard work, tradition, and a deep sense of pride. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Central Wisconsin, Hancock offers quiet mornings, scenic outdoor spaces, and some of the best local fishing and recreation the area has to offer.

Our village is proud of its strong community spirit. Local organizations, volunteers, and businesses work together year-round to support events, maintain shared spaces, and keep Hancock a great place to live and visit. From the community center to the parks and campground, there's always something bringing people together.

A village treasure on Fish Lake

Hancock Park sits on the shore of Fish Lake, just outside the village. It's where neighbors gather, kids run wild, and visitors come back year after year. With a campground, swimming beach, boat ramp, trails, and playground all in one place, the park is one of the village's most loved spots.

Campground

Open seasonally with campsites available for tents and RVs. Sites include water and electric hookups, and pets are welcome. For availability and current rates, call the village office at (715) 249-5521.

Kayak Rental Kiosk

A new self-serve kayak rental kiosk is now at the park, offering an easy way to get out on Fish Lake. Available during the warmer months — check at the kiosk for current pricing and availability.

Fish Lake Access

Fish Lake is a 153-acre, full-recreation lake known for clean water, good fishing, and plenty of room for boating, swimming, tubing, and skiing. The park offers a boat ramp for easy water access.

Swimming Beach

A sandy swimming beach right on Fish Lake — perfect for cooling off on summer afternoons.

Trails, Playground & Games

Nature trails wind through the park, and a playground plus outdoor games keep families entertained between swims and campfires.
